180DC Frankfurt is a student consultancy focused on maximising social impact. We consult NGOs in pro-bono projects, train our members to become effective consultants, and foster a community of ambitious students aiming to have an impact.
Members join our student consultancy in so-called batches to participate in our yearly program. After joining, members usually stay until graduation (and often times beyond as alumni). Outside of our consulting program, members benefit from exclusive career events with corporate partners and internal social events.
Each annual program includes two project cycles, our consulting bootcamp, an application masterclass, and one off-site at every beginning.
Our consulting teams typically consist of 2-3 consultants guided by a consulting director. The consulting director leads the project and takes responsibility from acquisition to completion. Consultants are tasked with driving specific workstreams, conducting analyses, and presenting recommendations to clients.
As interdisciplinary generalists supported by industry professionals, we solve complex business problems of any kind. Over the years we developed an expertise in fundraising, strategy, digital, expansion, and pricing, but are ready to take on any new business challenges. We don’t handle operational tasks or act as an extended workforce.
Our program consists of two project cycles, each lasting eight weeks. The schedule follows a consistent annual calendar:
Winter cycle: CW 48 - CW 04 (with a holiday break during CW 52)
Sommer cycle: CW 20 - CW 27
Each batch starts with participating in our consulting bootcamp. Over the course of two weeks, we run skill-building workshops led by top consultancies to prepare our members for project work. The program covers structured problem-solving, effective communication (verbal & written), PowerPoint workflow (using Efficient Elements), PowerPoint slide design, Excel modelling & data analysis, and hypothesis based project management.
Joining our initiative connects you with like-minded students who share an interest in consulting. Our members support one another beyond club activities whether through studying together or navigating applications and often times remain friends after uni.
Our professional network spans consultancies, large and small corporations, and social foundations. Many of our members secure internships with these partners during their studies. Personal contacts give the opportunity to learn more about a partner in an private setting.
After graduating our members become part of our alumni network. Alumni stay in touch with the initiative and each over through our newsletter & frequently organised social events.
Organisations can choose between a premium or standard partnership. A Premium Partnership offers additional benefits, while the Flex Partnership is designed for more casual collaboration. For more details, feel free to contact us at frankfurt@180dc.org.
Our partnerships aim to connect top university talent with leading professionals to boost our social impact, train the next generation of leaders, and tighten recruitment ties. We regularly conduct workshops and exclusive career events with our partners. Premium partners typically provide mentors who leverage their professional experience to support our consultants in project work. In addition, partners are automatically guaranteed a spot for our consulting night.
180DC Frankfurt is uniquely positioned to connect early with diverse talent. We attract the brightest students from Goethe University and Frankfurt School, many of whom come from varied backgrounds and regularly intern at our partner firms. Beyond offering a steady pipeline of young talent, we boost brand awareness by leveraging our communication channels (newsletter, LinkedIn, etc.).
Each year we host our flagship event in collaboration with leading consultancies, the Consulting Night. Our goal is to give students across Germany a comprehensive overview of and practical insight into the diverse landscape of consulting. The event features a range of activities, from mini workshops and one-on-one speed dates to exclusive insights into real consulting projects.
