Application process

Our interview process follows the industry standard

Candidate screening

We will carefully review each application. You can expect to hear from us within two days after the application window closes, regardless of the outcome.

Assessment center

If you are a good fit for our student club, we invite you to one of our assessment centers (2nd or 3rd of Nov) to get to know you better. We'll evaluate your motivation, problem-solving skills, and interpersonal abilities.

Onboarding

Once you have convinced us of your qualities, you will become an official member of 180DC Frankfurt. We will kick-off this year's batch with an offsite the week after the assessment center.

required documents

For your application, please include the following

Assessment center

We cannot wait to get to know you on a personal level

01

Company presentation & FAQ

The goal of the assessment center is for both parties to find out whether they are a good fit for each other. That is why we aim to be as transparent as possible, giving you an accurate impression of what you can expect at 180DC Frankfurt, including all benefits and responsibilities.

02

Interviews

All candidates will be interviewed twice. Each interview consists of a brief introduction (5min), a personal fit section (20min), a short case study (20min), and your chance to ask the interviewer individual questions in the end (5min). All interviews will be held in German.

Personal fit

The personal fit section helps us to assess your motivation and whether you are likely to develop with us throughout the membership. We will ask questions about your motivations, background, and the rationale behind certain life decisions.

Case study

The case study helps us to assess your problem-solving skills and whether you are likely to do well on our projects. Each candidate will encounter one market sizing and one simplified business problem. We recommend candidates to train their structuring, calculation, and communication abilities.

03

Feedback

Our team will review each candidate individually. We do not recruit a set amount of student consultants, so our decision for one candidate does not compete with another. All candidates will receive detailed feedback on their performance on the same day, regardless of our decision. All successful candidates are invited to join our team for dinner the same day to celebrate their membership.

Frequently asked questions & answers

I got invited to the assessment center. How can I prepare?

We recommend every candidate to prepare thoroughly for both, the personal fit & case study interview.

For the personal fit interview, reflect on your life journey and future ambitions. Think about how different phases in your life have shaped who you are, both personally and professionally. You should be able to clearly articulate why you want to do certain things.

For the case interview, practice your structuring, communication, and mental math (accuracy for simple calculations) abilities. We suggest doing 3-5 mock interviews with friends to get comfortable with the typical case flow. If you are looking for case prep resources, we recommend the free course from crafting cases, especially the market sizing, math, and brainstorm module.

I cannot make it to the assessment center. Is there an alternative interview date?

Yes. We offer digital interviews for exceptional applicants who cannot attend one of our assessment centers. The interview content remains the same.

Do you only hire students with work experience?

No. We hire based on talent, not experience. Most of our new members each year are freshman.

In what language should I submit the application documents?

Documents can be submitted in German or English.

Do you only hire from Goethe University?

No. Students from the entire Frankfurt area are welcome to apply. However, we expect everyone to attend events in person. Most of our members study at Goethe University, Frankfurt School or TU Darmstadt.

Do I need to be matriculated to a university to join?

Yes.
