Three things you won't find in a lecture hall, and the reason most of our members stay long after their first project.
Upon joining, you are staffed on a project right away. No shadowing, no case competition. Teams pair new members with more experienced students, and you own a workstream from week one. You present to the client yourself, at the midterm and the final. At the end of each project you get detailed, constructive feedback from your consulting director.
As a new joiner you take part in our intensive consulting bootcamp, where you learn the key skills, from effective communication to structured problem-solving. It is taught by our alumni and by consultants from our partner firms, and gives you a strong foundation for future internships and your professional growth.
Our members connect well beyond formal club activities. We support each other in preparing for interviews, navigating applications and getting through exams. On top of that, you benefit from our partner network, with internship opportunities and events.
At 180DC Frankfurt you will make a positive impact while learning from experienced mentors and meeting like-minded, motivated people.

We work on real-world projects, giving students an opportunity to gain hands-on consulting experience while making a tangible impact.

Before you apply, get to know the people you would work with. Three chances in October.

We recruit twice a year and we read every application. We look for talent, curiosity and follow-through, not a CV full of internships. Unsure whether your subject fits? Read which backgrounds consulting needs.
The assessment center takes place on 31 October and 1 November in Frankfurt. You are assigned to one of the two days, so keep both free until you hear from us. It is for both sides to find out whether we are a good fit. Here is exactly what happens on the day.
We want to be as transparent as possible. You get an accurate impression of what awaits you at 180DC Frankfurt, including all benefits and responsibilities, and you can ask anything.
Every candidate is interviewed twice. Each interview has a brief introduction (5 min), a personal fit section (20 min), a short case study (20 min) and time for your own questions at the end (5 min). All interviews are held in German.
Helps us understand your motivation and whether you are likely to grow with us throughout the membership. We ask about your motivation, your background and the reasoning behind certain decisions in your life.
Helps us assess your problem-solving skills and whether you are likely to do well on our projects. Every candidate gets one market sizing and one simplified business problem.
We review each candidate individually. There is no fixed number of places, so you never compete against another candidate. Everyone gets detailed feedback on their performance on the same day, whatever our decision. Successful candidates are invited to dinner with the team to celebrate.
Around 5–10 hours a week during the project phase, depending on where the project stands. It is a real commitment, and we'd rather you know that now.
You meet the team over dinner on the evening of 1 November, and the new batch kicks off together at an offsite event the week after.
Structuring, interviewing, modelling, storylining. Taught by our alumni and by consultants from our partner firms.
Eight to ten weeks on one client, with weekly team meetings, a midterm and a final handover you present yourself.
Take a second project, lead one, or move into our internal team. Either way you stay in the network.
Every member starts out as a student consultant. You complete our consulting bootcamp, get access to all our tools and gain hands-on experience working on projects in small teams: you conduct analyses, develop recommendations and engage directly with our clients. After successfully completing two projects, you are eligible for a senior role.
The board oversees internal operations and drives innovation. By setting strategic direction and fostering a culture of collaboration, it makes sure our initiatives align with our mission.
Each consulting director oversees their project from acquisition to completion. They solve problems, work closely with their team of student consultants and provide leadership.
After completing the program, members can move into a less time-intensive role. Internal staff support various departments as needed and are still warmly invited to all workshops and events.
Former board members can stay actively involved on the advisory board, bringing their professional experience and networks to provide insight and guidance.
After graduating, every member can join our alumni network and keep a strong connection with 180DC Frankfurt, with regular events and networking opportunities.
Our open knowledge base explains the consulting landscape, which backgrounds fit where, how to research firms, write applications, prepare for interviews and do well in your first internship.
With 180 Degrees Connect you stay in touch with us until the next application round: come to the Consulting Night and selected open events, and apply again. Projects, the bootcamp and premium partner workshops remain reserved for our consulting team.
Absolutely. Over 30% of our members have a non-business background. Our consulting bootcamp makes sure everyone starts the project work equally prepared.
Prepare for both parts: the personal fit and the case study. For the personal fit, think about your path so far and your ambitions: how different phases of your life shaped who you are, what you learned personally and professionally, and why you want to do certain things. For the case, practise structuring, communication and mental math. Doing 3–5 mock interviews with friends helps you get used to the flow of a case. For free prep material, we recommend the course from Crafting Cases, especially the market sizing, math and brainstorming modules. Our interview guide walks you through both parts.
The assessment center takes place in person on 31 October and 1 November, and we can only offer a small number of online slots. If you need one, say so at the end of the application form. The content of the interviews stays the same.

New joiners complete two projects in their first year as part of our consulting program. After that, you can move into a less time-intensive role and support our internal departments as needed.
The program is designed to leave enough time for studying: all our activities pause one month before exams. In our experience, consultants do the program and still perform well in their exams.
You can apply again in the next cycle, and many people do. If you took part in the assessment center, you already got detailed feedback on your performance on the day.
No. Our clients pay nothing and so our members are paid in training, responsibility and the network. That trade is the whole point of the model.
